Configuring the process block

  1. Add an IBM Planning Analytics connection as a destination.
  2. Under “Object type”, select “Run TurboIntegrator process”.
  3. Choose an available process. Map each parameter to a constant, launch parameter or input-data column.
  4. After its IBM definition changes, refresh process parameters and check mappings.
  5. Simulate to verify access and prepared parameter sets.
  6. Run in a control environment and inspect the result and IBM log.

Without column-sourced parameters, the process runs once. With columns, it runs once for each distinct combination of their values, in row order, up to 1,000 calls. A failed call stops subsequent calls. Cube mapping, measure fields and cell-write batch settings do not apply to TI.

Parameter values

Parameter names, types and hints are read from IBM. A numeric parameter must contain a finite number. A text parameter is limited to 2,048 characters. An empty value is not sent, so the process uses its own default.

The names and values are illustrative. UBC Data Bridge does not create this process or add parameters to it.

What simulation validates

Preparation verifies that the process exists and is accessible to the connection user, all supplied parameter names are known, and numeric values can be converted correctly. It fixes the exact parameter set for execution.

Simulation does not execute the TI process body or confirm its business result. Internal logic, source files and permissions on objects accessed by the process are checked during actual IBM execution.

Process results and errors

The call is made through tm1.ExecuteWithReturn. IBM status CompletedSuccessfully indicates success. Any other status is returned as a process error; if IBM provides an error-log name, it appears in diagnostics.

The process is not automatically retried. If the response is lost, check IBM. Even a known failure status does not mean no changes occurred: the process may already have performed some actions.

Schedules and Chores

UBC Data Bridge has no separate IBM Chore block or Chores schedule management. The existing block starts a TI process specifically. Automated flow execution is configured in UBC Data Bridge; the connection must work without interactive user login.

If a server-side sequence is already organized in IBM, agree with the administrator which existing process may be called. Do not assume that selecting TI automatically starts any Chore or passes table rows to the process.

Column-sourced parameters

For a table with Company and Period, map pCompany to Company and pPeriod to Period. Two rows with the same pair produce one call; a new pair produces another. Other parameters can remain constant. Empty values are not passed, leaving the process default. Check the distinct-combination count and ensure each invocation performs the intended business action.
