Purpose

Serializes an input table to XLSX, TXT, CSV, JSON, XML or SQLite. Download through the browser or save to File Manager or a selected connected-storage folder. Use a storage connection for a server or network directory. File names can include run date and time.

Inputs and outputs

The destination has an in input and optional success/failure outputs. Download prepares a browser result. File Manager and storage saves happen during the write stage. Use the appropriate result output for subsequent steps.

Parameters

ParameterValue
destinationdownload, file_manager or storage; default download.
manager_folder_idFile Manager folder; empty means top level.
connection_id / storage_folderConnected storage and folder for destination=storage.
clear_folderClear files in the selected folder before saving; off by default.
formatxlsx, txt, csv, json, xml, sqlite.
filename / sheetName template without extension and Excel sheet. Defaults: export_{date}_{time} and Data.
timezone / delimiterIANA timezone; ; , tab or | delimiter.
collisionunique, overwrite, error. Browser downloads use browser-managed numbering.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Connect the prepared table and select format.
  2. Choose download, File Manager or storage; use the folder picker for saving.
  3. Set the name template, timezone and format options.
  4. Check collision handling and whether clearing the folder is intended.
  5. Simulate and inspect the prepared file, then verify actual saving with a controlled run.

Rules and checks

  • Templates: {date}, {time}, {datetime}, {YYYY}, {MM}, {DD}, {HH}, {mm}, {ss}. The time is fixed for the run.
  • The rendered sheet name is at most 31 characters. Excel supports 1,048,576 rows including headers, 16,384 columns and 32,767 text characters per cell.
  • SQLite creates table data; column names cannot differ only by case. JSON uses an array of objects; XML uses dataset/row/field; TXT uses tabs.
  • Overwrite in File Manager creates a new version. Allowed-format and size limits apply.
  • Folder clearing changes all files in the selected scope; inspect it before writing. It does not apply to browser downloads.

Configuration example

For a monthly report, choose format=xlsx, filename=Sales_{YYYY}_{MM}, sheet=Sales, timezone=Europe/Kyiv, destination=file_manager, the “Reports” folder and collision=unique.
