Glossary
| Concept | Value |
|---|---|
| Connection | A service address, authentication method and settings. Secrets are stored separately from visible parameters. |
| File source | A description of where to obtain a file, how to read it and which ranges to use. |
| Block | One graph step with its own settings and input/output ports. |
| Flow | A named data-processing procedure with a graph, versions and run settings. |
| Draft | An editable version suitable for validation and simulation. |
| Production | The published working flow version run by users and jobs. |
| Run | An individual execution attempt with a configuration snapshot, parameters, log and result. |
| Task | A rule for automatic execution on a schedule, interval or source change. |
| Destination | A block that writes data or performs an external action after preparation. |
Tables and value types
A tabular result contains column names and rows. Numbers, text, Boolean and empty values have different semantics. Text “0012” can be a code rather than the number 12; do not convert it unnecessarily. Normalize number formats before numeric operations, and align key types before joining tables.
Empty results and inactive branches
An empty active table means processing took place but produced no rows. An inactive branch means its route was not chosen. This distinction matters for Merge branches, conditional destinations and parameters: data must not be written merely because ports are formally connected.
Names and identifiers
A name helps find an object in a library; its internal identifier determines references to it. Use the mapping preview during import. Renaming a column inside a flow requires checking all subsequent formulas, filters and mappings.
Reuse and entry points
- A subflow transforms a table inside the current run using a selected input and output.
- Call flows creates separate executions of other Production processes.
- An inbound API endpoint accepts a request; an API publication exposes a result for reading.
- An agent is a private-network service through which connections access permitted resources.
- Launch method is the context a flow can use to choose a user, API or Workspace branch.
