Selecting a cube or view
- Add a block from the “Connections” tab for the required TM1 instance and set its role to source.
- Select the “Cube” object type and the required cube.
- For a managed slice, choose view-based reading and an IBM public view. To read the complete selection, choose cube reading.
- Set the element type: leaf, consolidated or all.
- Select columns and the value field name; the default is
Value. - Preview the source result before connecting subsequent transformations.
Cube reading uses the default hierarchy of each dimension. View reading uses the hierarchies and context of the view itself.
How the table is formed
Each row represents a cube cell. Dimension columns appear first, in the cube's own order, followed by the value. “All columns” adds Alias attributes in columns Вимір · Псевдонім. Principal element names are kept separate from their display labels.
| Parameter | Value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
read_mode | view / cube | Public view / cube |
element_mode | leaf | Rows without consolidated coordinates |
element_mode | consolidated | Rows where at least one coordinate is consolidated |
element_mode | all | All rows plus technical indicators |
columns | fields / all | Principal fields / also aliases |
In all-elements mode, __ibm_row_type contains leaf or consolidated, while __ibm_consolidation_level is the highest consolidation level among the row's coordinates.
View requirements
A public view must unambiguously specify every cube dimension. Data axes are supported, with an optional context axis containing exactly one tuple. A repeated dimension or ambiguous context stops the export.
A private view cannot be selected as a source. Prepare a public export view in IBM and grant the connection user permission to execute it. Dimension column names, the value field and technical fields must be distinct.
Volume, zeros and preview
A full read does not silently truncate results: exceeding the limit produces error RANGE_LIMIT. The source limit is set by MAX_SOURCE_CELLS; the default is 2,000,000 table cells, including headers. More columns mean fewer permitted rows.
For cubes, the adapter limits intermediate MDX sets and does not automatically suppress zeros. Zeros, empty values and text values have distinct meanings. A limited preview of a cube source is marked as an incomplete selection; it must not be treated as a full export.
Check the row count, dimension order, one nonzero cell, one zero cell and consolidated rows. Usually, only leaf-level rows are needed before writing to another cube.
