Purpose
Combines the main dataset with exactly one row from an additional source. Use it for an exchange rate, snapshot date, overall total or other shared attributes without key matching.
Inputs and outputs
main is the main table input; scalar is a single-row table. out contains every main row with added values.
Parameters
| Parameter | Settings and values | Options and limits |
|---|---|---|
fields | Fields from the single-row table; an empty list means all its fields. | Count: 0–256 |
prefix | A prefix for the added field names. | Default: emptyUp to 128 characters |
collision | error stops on a name collision; overwrite replaces the corresponding fields in the main table. | Options: error, overwriteDefault: error |
Step-by-step configuration
- Connect the main data to main.
- Prepare a scalar table containing exactly one row; use grouping without keys if needed.
- Select the added fields and prefix.
- Set collision behaviour and check the result’s row count.
Rules and diagnostics
- Zero or more than one row in an active scalar input causes BROADCAST_CARDINALITY.
- Use prefix, such as Rate_, to distinguish identical names.
- The result has the same row count as the main table.
- If either input is inactive, the result is also inactive.
Configuration example
main contains Product, Amount; scalar contains one row, Rate=40. Select Rate with prefix="". Every sale receives Rate, after which Amount / Rate calculates the equivalent in the other currency.
